Multi-Purpose Dry Chemical Extinguishers
ABC or Multi-Purpose extinguishers are the most popular extinguishers on the market today due to their effectiveness against fires in ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids and gases, and energized electrical equipment. For vehicle, office or factory.
Construction and Durability
Built with heavy-duty steel cylinders and a corrosion-resistant polyester powder paint finish, these extinguishers are designed for durability and longevity.
Dry Chemical Extinguishers Uses
Multi-Purpose Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers, often labeled as ABC extinguishers, are versatile and effective against three main classes of fires:
Class A Fires:
Involve ordinary combustibles such as wood, paper, cloth, rubber, and some plastics.
The dry chemical works by insulating these materials and stopping the combustion process.
Class B Fires:
Involve flammable liquids and gasses such as gasoline, oil, paint, and propane.
The dry chemical smothers the fire by creating a barrier between the fuel and the oxygen.
Class C Fires:
Involve electrical equipment, such as motors, transformers, and appliances.
The dry chemical is non-conductive, making it safe to use on electrical fires without the risk of electrical shock.
Usage Instructions
Pull the Pin:
Locate the pin at the top of the extinguisher and pull it out to break the tamper seal.
Aim the Nozzle:
Aim the nozzle or hose at the base of the fire, not the flames. Target the fuel source to effectively extinguish the fire.
Squeeze the Handle:
Squeeze the handle or lever slowly and evenly to discharge the extinguishing agent.
Sweep Side to Side:
Sweep the nozzle from side to side while aiming at the base of the fire. Move carefully and steadily, covering the entire area of the fire until it is extinguished.
Certifications and Standards
These extinguishers comply with ANSI/UL standards and NFPA 10, and they hold ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 certifications for quality and environmental management.
Are Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers Toxic?
The non-toxic and non-conductive dry chemical used in these extinguishers ensures safety during use. Always follow the provided safety guidelines and refer to the Safety Data Sheets for detailed information.
