Kestrel 3000 Pocket Weather Meter

Kestrel 3000 Pocket Weather Meter has traditionally been the most popular meter for firefighters for controlled burns and such, easily and rapidly giving wind and relative humidity readings. Before the Kestrel 3000 came along, the technology required to gather this information would require masses of equipment, in particular a Sling.

Kestrel has taken fire to a new level of fire prediction by using the environmental aspects to incorporate:

As with all Kestrel meters, the 3000's sensitive and user-replaceable Impeller technology provides accurate wind speed info. Additionally, an external temperature sensor and waterproof casing allow you to gauge the temperature of water (it even floats) and snow, as well as the open air.

Every Kestrel Meter features a large, 1” impeller mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing, which means it starts rotating with the slightest puff of air. This patented impeller is user-replaceable by simply pushing it out with your thumbs, which means it can easily be replaced if it is damaged or worn. The measurements from the wind impeller are taken magnetically. The impeller is not glued or attached to the unit. Because every new impeller is calibrated in a wind tunnel at the USA factory, if your application demands regular calibration, simply pop in a new impeller and the Kestrel Wind Meter is restored to like-new factory calibration standards.
